Description:The life span of the Horned Armour snail is 2-5 years if properly fed and taken care of. The Brotia Pagodula are conical shaped snail with spikes around them. The hard shell is rigid and not as smooth as other conical shaped snails like White rabbit snail or Malaysian Trumpet snails. The color ranges from dark brown to yellowish. When fully mature they average 5cm – 5-5cm. Their diet consists of algae, phytoplankton, dead leaves and plants. They are more likely to eat plants if not properly fed and they are also not aggressive plant eaters.
Water Parameters: An easy to keep snail that does well in temperatures ranging around 20 – 26 °C (68 – 78.8°F) with a high pH of 7.0 – 8.0.
Sexing: They have distinct sexual organs and are not easy to identify.
Breeding: Since sexing them is difficult, it is encouraged to mix large numbers in order to successfully breed them. The give birth to live young ones.
Compatibility:This snail is a good tank mate and is compatible with most fish so long they are not aggressive.
